Garden Café – Before & After Interior Transformation

The Garden Café project is a thoughtful before-and-after renovation that transformed a dull, lifeless outdoor café space into a vibrant, inviting garden destination, while fully respecting its government-protected status. With limited structural changes allowed, the design focused on creative reuse, color, and atmosphere to bring the space back to life.

Before: The Original Space

• Muted and lifeless environment with minimal visual interest

• Restricted layout due to protected area regulations

• Outdated materials lacking warmth and character

• Limited ambience, especially during evening hours

The space had strong potential but lacked the energy and identity required for a successful café experience.

After: The Garden Café Transformation

• Bright, colourful lighting used to energize the space and create a relaxed, social mood

• Upcycled materials, including old doors and windows reused as tabletops, reinforcing sustainability

• Construction-site furniture elements creatively repurposed as table legs

• Playful pops of colour throughout furniture and décor to enhance visual interest

• Chilled, garden-inspired concept suitable for both daytime coffee and evening dining

The result is a lively garden café that feels authentic, creative, and full of character—proof that impactful design doesn’t require drastic structural change.
